I started up the business after seeing “professional” dog walkers walking as many as 12 dogs at the one time. I wanted to do it as responsibly as possible and only walk very small groups. I have slowly been building the business, taking the time to get to know each dog before taking on another. I also offer 1:1 walks for more reactive dogs. As well as dog walking I run a pet taxi service to take animals to vet/ grooming appointments, “Pop In” home visits for puppies, elderly pets, cats, rabbits etc. I also do small animal home boarding ( you need a category for this). I care for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds ( including hens), hamsters etc. I have two rooms specifically for boarding and also a safe, enclosed garden. I have a BSc. In Zoology, Emergency Canine First Aid training qualification and fully insured. I’m just finalising the wording for a petition to licence and regulate dog walking businesses with the hope that dog walkers will be limited to the number of dogs allowed to be walked at any one time.
